Neolytica Unveils LIMS-ASP solution at PITTCON 2003
ORLANDO, Fla. (USA) - March 10, 2003

Neolytica (www.neolytica.com) is introducing its LIMS-ASP (Laboratory Information Management System delivered as a service) solution to customers at PITTCON ® 2003 in Orlando, Fla., Mar. 9-14. Neolytica’s LIMS-ASP will provide customers with access to world-class software without the need to secure costly licenses, purchase hardware or employ expensive support resources.

Neolytica, a single point of contact for outsourcing and contracting analytical testing services, teamed with Thermo Electron (NYSE: TMO) in October 2002 to offer the Nautilus™ LIMS solution to customers using the ASP model. Neolytica began piloting its LIMS-ASP service during the 1st quarter of 2003 and will follow with a full commercial launch during the 3rd quarter of 2003.

"Neolytica is committed to providing its customers with best-in-class service and performance, enabling them to more efficiently and cost-effectively concentrate on core competencies, " said Steve Gregory, Chief Operating Officer, Neolytica, Inc. "Collaborating with Thermo Electron to deploy Nautilus LIMS via ASP provides a solid base for Neolytica’s customers to effectively form a technological foundation for their information management-based activities."

The Neolytica LIMS-ASP infrastructure allows data access via the Internet, permitting customers to review their data 24 hours-a-day from any location using an Internet browser. Well-defined security architecture protects Neolytica’s LIMS and data reporting infrastructure, ensuring that only those with pre-defined privileges are allowed access. Neolytica combines the leading conventional systems and Internet-enabling technologies to deliver a return on investment to customers in industries such as chemicals, plastics, R&D, industrial gases, petrochemical and consumer packaged goods.

Customers who utilize Neolytica LIMS-ASP will experience faster, easier and more convenient service. A monthly rental fee replaces initial information services capital expenditures, spreading cash flow over a manageable period and eliminating upfront software and hardware costs. Hosting LIMS on a network of centrally managed servers maintained by highly trained specialists also provides users with the highest level of availability, scalability and performance as well as removing the significant costs associated with updates.

Neolytica’s primary goals for LIMS are to improve laboratory productivity and reduce the total cost of ownership to customers in small or large laboratories. The key benefits to successfully meeting these goals include faster and more competitive business operations, better managed IT costs and speeding validation efforts in regulated environments.
